July 8 Relatives are visiting, who like to bird... But I also like flowers. These twinflowers often carpet an area unobtrusively... I think this is a Swainson's thrush, call often heard in the woods, but seldom seen.
We didn't remember seeing these flowers before, but then at 70 lots of things are new every time...
This is probably a Hammond's flycatcher, by call...
