June 10, 2021 I've
been making pots as fast I can to keep up with demand this year, which
is part of why I haven't updated my blog this month so far.

lot of birds are carrying insects and nesting material lately.
Here's a brown creeper with a bug.. You can see why it
blends with tree bark...

We
used to live in an orchard area of Washington, and a neighbor had a
cherry tree so big that he invited in the neighbors to pick all they
wanted (apples and pears were his cash crop). But it bothered him that
top was going to waste, so he cut the tree to a more pickable level.
After that the crows, which work from the top of the tree
downward, cleaned out the tree and there were no more cherries to share. Our
tree is now over 30 feet tall, and the crows are starting in early this
year, but it will still hopefully be an abundant crop for all...
June 26 Aside
from the start of an apocalyptic heat wave, things are going as well as
could be expected. I got an E-bike for my birthday, after years
of reading reviews on the web... And I think I got a photo of a
cordilleran flycatcher in the yard of our cabin, which we are vacating
to allow a relative to move in...
it is small and rather nondescript... Like most flycatchers, it's rather flighty...
