Sept. 6
I've remained busy, playing the Thursday Market in Spokane, and providing music for the Labor Day park celebration.  I got on the front of the CDA Press with my son's childhood pirate costume.  I'm planning on using it for some pottery commercials..

Sept. 10
Picked about a bushel of pears for the year's harvest yesterday...   The only apples we have are summer apples at our main orchard and some Jonathans and Goldens at the pottery.  Good year for Italian prunes though...
Caught a few scenic photos in the last few days:

This is the view towards Chimney Rock along the Shore Trail at Priest Lake, on a day with spates of showers..

Here it is closer...

This was the Mill Pond at Spirit Lake around 9 this morning....

Red breasted nuthatch...

Wood ducks (left one is male in eclipse plumage)

Sept 13
We had our first frost last night, only lost the most lowlying cucumbers, but got the other squash and tomatoes and dahlias covered.  One more night for the current threat.  This seems earlier than recent years, but later than our early years here, where Labor Day was often around the first frost, and it would come close to frosting around July 4th...

Sept. 26

Books read and other media of note
Coconut Cowboy by Tim Dorsey (read by Oliver Wyman).  Florida novels deserve a special Reddit tag along with Florida news...   The guy who renders assistance to divine retribution is back reinterpreting and enlarging on Easy Rider.  Meanwhile a poor schmuck is getting swallowed whole by redneck small town corruption, so who will save him?

The Two Minute Rule by Robert Crais.   A standalone novel about a recently released bank robber trying to do the right thing...
Slow Burn by Ace Atkins.  It's like Robert Parker never died, Ace crafting his own series, like Parker did for Raymond Chandler in Poodle Springs...
