An aerial tour of the Rathdrum Prairie area of Idaho.
The Rathdrum Prairie is a rapidly growing area of North Idaho bounded by lake Coeur D'Alene on the south, Lake Pend Oreille on the east, Mt Spokane on the west, and the Pend Oreille river on the north. In August, 2004, Rev. Jim Howell took my wife and me to see the area from the air.  Here are the photos.

Seat belts fastened?  Here we go, in a Cessna from the 1960's, leaving Hackney Field

Here's Athol, a small mill town on US 95.  Just a couple miles south of it is
Silverwood, a major amusement park.

You can see the waterpark in the foreground, and the rollercoaster in the upper left. There's also an airstrip where they sometimes have air shows.

South of that is Hayden Lake

It looks pretty wild on the east side. Looking to the southwest, you can see the growth in this area:

This view includes the west side of Hayden Lake and towns of Hayden, Dalton Gardens, meshing into Coeur D'Alene and Post Falls.
